I'm on the porch 'cause I lost my housekey
Pick up my book I read Bukowski
I think I haven't heard this album in 10 years, but just got that line on the mind. Turns out it's still pretty awesome.

Not obvs, album is filled with great things.
I can still sing along to this. Funny how these lyrics just hibernated in my brain for a decade.

Name of Louis Armstrong
Said that girl who left me silly

Oh memories of making out to the greeting song.
Unfortunately I also remember I was too drunk to fuck later that night.

Hello young woman that I love
Pretty punk rock mama that I'm thinking of
Hold me naked if you will
In your arms in your legs in your pussy I'd kill
To be with you, to kiss with you, I do miss you
I love you
^ how deep are those lyrics? seriously thats the most romantic verse ever

Tell me something cool about Pynchon, please.
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.0
Everything about Pynchon is cool. My favourite is that supposedly he was walking down the street one day and bumped into some guy who used to frequent the same parties but hasn't seen in like 10 years. Pynchon sees the guy looking at him funny, but Pynchon obviously doesn't recognise the guy. The guy waves, says "Hi Tom". Pynchon, paranoiac that he is, doesn't really respond. Suddenly (coincidentally?) a public phone they're standing next to starts ringing and Pynchon bails as fast as he can. Who knows if it's true but it's a great story.

Haha thanks, that's sweet. What book do you rec for starters?
|

Album Rating: 3.0
Probably either Inherent Vice, which is probably his most straightforward plotwise and his most traditionally readable, or The Crying Of Lot 49, which is much denser but still pretty readable and funny, and has a more-or-less normal, recognisable plot you can follow, and will better prepare you for the harder stuff like Gravity's Rainbow or V. or Against The Day.

Thank you. Exactly, I didn't want to start with Gravity's Rainbow.
