The new single sounds like a b side or something. I can't put my finger on it, but it sounds like a different band to me. The band has had many band member changes, sure. But I can't get behind the new tracks yet.

I was actually on board until the abysmal chorus. Song is fine, but yeah, I get the underwhelming feeling. I’m happy these guys got a little more creative and escaped being just another emo band, but I was really hoping the lightning could strike twice and they could recapture this album

I'm not sure how I feel about the singles yet. They're not terrible just different. Their sound feels lighter but also farther reaching. Still trying to get a feel for how the new album will sound, I think we're in for a Manchester Orchestra styled shift, and it makes sense that the two bands would experiment with their sounds in similar ways considering they worked together on Draw Down the Moon for the last year. I can hear a lot of MO in the latest single, could definitely hear Andy singing that.

Interesting take, Sowing! I can see a lot of what youre saying when i think of it. I ended up liking the new MO a lot even tho i didnt get behind all the singles. But just like MO, Foxing are also following up an album that is near impossible to surpass (judging by the singles they will not top NMG). And they dont need to. MO certainly did not top ABMTTS but MMOG was a great album nonetheless

Yeah just ordered the newbury Comics orange cloudy edition, the singles are slowly starting to grow on me and NMG helped me through so much shit that I had to order it

Honestly I haven't been able to forget the chorus to Lightning since I first heard it. Maybe not the most complex song but that melody combined with those occasional electric guitar flares is unstoppably catchy.

Yeah my least favorite single for now, but its a earworm for sure. I’m actually being more optimistic about the record than I initially was. The non-singles on NMG were my favorites.
