Science Fiction needs at least a 4.3. Probably would be a 4.2 at the least if it weren’t for allegations. It was a bolded 3.8 on rym til allegations and now it’s an unbolded 3.57. Was 9.1 on Metacritic now 8.0. P4k wouldn’t include it on best albums or tracks of the year, and I’m assuming for the same reason. The allegations killed that one. I’m waiting for it to be 3.9-4 at this point regardless of it being my favorite of the year. This one should also be 4.2 average honestly. I would make this a 5 but I don’t like Turtleneck. But that shouldn’t make it a 4 in any way because some of their best work is on here. If Turtleneck was nixed this would be a 5 no doubt. Kinda crummy this didn’t even make Pitchfork top 50.

And can we talk about Slowdive? It also deserves 4.1+. That 3.8 is pretty rough. Easily one of the best of the year. 2017 was wayyy too epic to be a Kendrick and Lorde lovefest. Those two are your “virgin AOTY”
