Cool album for the time but substantially weaker than the next 4 (yes Black too).

I was listening to the '85 demo of Disposable Heroes (off the Remaster bonus tracks), and it struck me how incredible it was that these guys went from the fun, simplistic songs on here in '83 to just two years later pummeling everyone with bangers like Disposable Heroes and Damage Inc. Very fast evolution.

^^^

Agreed.

Hit The Lights/The Four Horsemen/Whiplash/No Remorse

...and the famous "Seek & Destroy" are my perso best of KEA.

So, it is an album that i really like.

I do have a preference for the next 3 albums, nonetheless.

Kirk has a knack for catchy solos that fit the songs well and sound impressive to an untrained ear. But yeah, obviously not a great guitar player.

37 years on, and does this melt faces or what

This take actually blows the studio version out of the water

They may not be as technically demanding or complex in structure, but his chops are fluid as fuck. Still very basic, though. Then again, some of the most accomplished metal guitarists cannot shred like the way Hammett did back in the 80's.

Kirk is also very nice and humble.

Nonetheless, #15 of 100 Best Metal Guitarist Edition Joel McIver 2006.

Pretty good, indeed.

Or we can quote the famous Ian Gillian

« Comparing guitar players is pointless. What is this, the Guitar Olympics? »

Agreed, this LP rule (them all, sort of)

..crap, page break..

Megadeth-Rust In Piece, for me, is a masterpiece.

« Holy Wars » is a perfect thrash anthem with one of the most intense crescendo.
