Better than just calling us the Goon Squad. Zoomers really ruined what could’ve been a solid name

I think Chino would just embrace the new connotation.

In Australia “Goon” refers to cheap and nasty boxed wine that basically only students and people with very serious alcohol addictions buy. I’ll never forget seeing Deftones in like 2012 and having a very jacked, shirtless gym bro with a backwards cap run laps around the pit, munted off his face, screaming “PLAY GOOOOOON SQUAD BOYS!!!”

Love how all records on Tidal are now 96 kHz, makes a discog run a nicer experience.
Honestly, Adrenaline hit me harder than this. But production is indeed better here, without being overproduced.
Where Adrenaline is quite repetitive and bare to me, this in comparison is so much weirder... Hard to really have an opinion currently, last time I heard this record in full is years ago I think.
That track after MX is pretty cool, bit of a shame they are combined with 25 minutes of silence...

Nothing like a good discog run, especially a long running one with lots of nostalgia and memories tied to it. It can almost be like a life retrospective if you’ve been listening to the band long enough (I started listening when atf came out, was 16/17, but really became obsessed when WP came out).

They played MX on the Gore tour and the crowd knew the fucking mission, a bunch of us were screaming the girl parts, they didn’t even have a background recording, or if they did I could not hear it lmao

Haha nice! Goddamnit Gore is the one tour I didn’t see them on (since snw). I can’t remember why tbh, I do know I had tix, my life (and myself) were pretty fucked up at the time though so who knows.
