I've always felt Matt Halpern puts too much effort into being techy it takes away from the cohesiveness of the music. Idk as a drummer all I can hear is his never-ending "weird" style. Its cool at first but it becomes a headache halfway through a song. He's a good player, just isn't crafting things right to fit the music. I don't really remember how it is on this album but it was a mess on 1

oh well yea p2 is a lot catchier ill give you that. i think p1 is much more prog metal esque tho and p2 is like super techy alt rock





i agree with this statement. i tend to prefer prog metal over alt rock, but i just feel that periphery are better at alt rock. it fits spencer better, thats for sure.

Have high expectations on Juggernaut. And am hoping for another episode of "KILL reviews cookie cutter metal bands" when that album arrives!
