Well it sounds basically nothing like Pet Sounds... I say still check it, it's only 27 minutes long.

agree sirlord, beatles were obviously very influential, but were very influenced themselves, especially by Dylan, and the early san fran sound pre 66, that is were norwegian wood and more lyrical songs come from, the Beatles were not as experimental in 60 70, but never even looked at each other in 70,

"check the Smile Sessions first"

Smile Sessions is okay... it's like a bunch of demos glossed over with remastering, not even close to being as good as Smiley Smile :P

Well great now you gotta check Smile Sessions. Basically it's what Smiley Smile was supposed to be before everyone smothered the genius of Brian Wilson.

@Ars always the minority opinion. Keep it up, bro :D

Remastering might be good since production was the biggest flaw of the album for me

The production on Smile Sessions is heavenly and it's in no way overdone. It's still mono and everything ala 1967. Brian Wilson's 2004 Smile may be a bit overproduced. Smiley Smile is just so minimal I mean they recorded (most of) it at Brian's house for crying out loud.

I dunno man this ain't black metal. I'm of the opinion that Brian's music was meant to be sung by a angelic choir and played with an orchestra so large it would make Phil Spector drop his cigar...but that's just me haha

Honestly, what's the big deal with these guys? Two of them are dead, they no longer play out and have not had a hit in years...how long will this hiatus last?

I wonder why ford has this 3'd, considering that he likes this band quite a bit.
