I have to admit my opinion on the best song here is for chads and normies will never understand, so I will of course forgive this stupidity. You're all welcome

Just listened to Surrounded again and it slaps a lot more today than it did years ago the last time I listened, the guitar around 3:40 is a great melody

as someone who's going backwards in their discography, it's absurd to find how strong their songwriting is on a song like learning to live, when they're the stereotypical, generic prog metal band today (or even 20 years ago). i like train of thought, i can enjoy some of the recent stuff too, but it's nowhere near the same level

Yep, absolutely. This band peaked early. This, Awake and Scenes are essential and half of Falling Into Infinity. I like to return to Six Degrees sometimes, because it's great. The rest is fine. Some amazing songs here and there

^ agreed with most of that, yeah. Images, Awake, Scenes, and Six Degrees are all peak DT, and Falling Into Infinity isn't far behind. I will say though, as far as modern DT albums go, A Dramatic Turn of Events is a personal favorite as well

I prefer Metropolis and Awake to those two, which are my third and fourth choices, Titan.

This is their only album that psychedelically vibrates, therefore objectively the best if you are human.
