To honour the memory and because this is a masterstroke of a record I'm calling it a classic. Absolutely stunning record.

Even I'll pour one out for Hollis, after all, he made my favourite album to hate on. I'll probably give it another listen tonight

Having a major part in two practically flawless albums and some of the best pop tracks arguably ever is a cracking legacy to leave.
RIP you beaut.

Best description of Hollis I've seen
'He pulled off the greatest vanishing act in pop'
(in regard to his retirement, and by extension, his passing)

"New Grass" is the perfect song. We've finally found it!

how does spirit of eden compare to this?

My first impression is that SoE has a better first half, but this has a better second half and is overall probably the better album. Lots of people prefer SoE though so I'd say it's worth a listen.

does it have the same kind of atmosphere, ie slow-burning instrumentals?
|
| |
Yeah, it's a bit more energetic but very much the same style

Don’t get me wrong SOE is amazing but this belongs in the pantheon of art in general.
