Doesn't sound that much like Envy, Nothing, Hundredth, other bands like that, or even Explosions. Of course there're some noticeable influences, but this is still uniquely them and the songwriting is pretty ambitious.

I love how most all of the songs go to totally new territory in the second halves and sounds organic while doing it. There're so many details in the instrumentation and production, more than any of their previous records.

Talons knows what's up. This is such an organic, natural progression for them and while it does have its flaws I don't understand the hate. It's so pretty and fun to listen to.

First three songs are gorgeous, but I can understand people finding the back half of this a bit boring. I thought Mombasa's climax would have elicited a much crazier reaction, but most people seem to like the first half better lol

They never focused on the opposite side of the blackgaze spectrum besides Black Brick, still interested in hearing an album from them like that.

Gazers feel offended more ppl are enjoying this because of proper sick drumms and actual songwriting.

I m with Talons that 2nd parts of songs and its transitions are super cool. Those 2nd parts are more post alt rock than actual shoe. Its kinda what makes this cooler than your average shugaze bedtalk band.

I could only point out that all tracks follow the same scheme, but that happens in so many bands we all love

i like deafheaven the most when they sound like envy, first two albums are honestly better envy than most music envy themselves have made

this is pleasant, but kinda underwhelming at the end

The climax of In Blur with the chill guitar solo and the little electronic "uh, ah, yeah" flourishes going on is one of the most sublime moments on this album.
