Really? I don't remember any metal albums you have rated with more than a 4.0 (not that there's a problem with that).
|
| |
By higher than a 4, I mean between 4 and 4.5.
Rating tiers are wide. My 4s are far from equal.
|
| |
Oh yeah, you actually consider what's between 4.0 and 4.5, forgot about that.
|
| |
I kind of hate the 10 point system. Not that I could tell the difference between an 8.1 and an 8.2. But still, it doesn't accurately represent my opinions.
|
| |
Eh, it's perfect for me. At best I could take, idk, a 20 point system and like over half of those points would be use for things I don't like.
|
| |
"a 20 point system" agreed. That is ideal for me too. Combined with the 100 point tagging system I use in rym now.

Shut the fuck up Alex.
|
| |
Yeah, I could use that but using it in tags in like RYM or something similar is too much effort for me, I don't care enough.
|
| |
Lmao

Album Rating: 4.5
No matter what system you use, it'll never be perfect.
Just try to limit the 5s and 1s and only give 4.5 to albums you really love and 1.5 to terrible ones. 5 = the best there is and 1 = the worst.
So really, a 4 is a great album.
The problem is that people tend to overrate and underrate when they like/dislike.

some of the best thrash ever made m/

"Combined with the 100 point tagging system I use in rym now."
Whoa whoa whoa can you tell me about this? I thought there was just the 5 star rating...or is this your own proprietary rating system?

Album Rating: 4.5
love the raw, more punk influence shit here
the progression in rlt and mop was great those are classics too but you almost wish they had played around a bit longer with a raw style

"Just try to limit the 5s and 1s"
"and 1s"
Nah.
|
| |
@Bloc It is just my own rating system, yes.
Sonemic will actually allow a 100 point system when it comes out though.
|
| |
But when in the blue hell is that shit coming out? Feels like I've seen it float around for years

If anyone wants something like this with some black metal added check out:

So weird to think of the fact that somehow two absolute metal geniuses (Hetfield and Mustaine) were in the same band at a young age. The probability of that is astounding. Can't help but wonder what Metallica would've looked like with Mustaine longterm. m/ x50
Or better yet, Hetfield in 1990 singing, Brother will kill brother, spill blood across the landdddddddd….
