I love Naraka
Kinda wish I were still in Thailand listening to it for the first time (sry guardian writer). Feel like it would hit different. But not gonna complain too much when I was resigned to never hearing another BoC album again, let alone one this good

'are you more of a Daily Mail reader then Doof?'
I subscribe to the Telegraph so I've some shared ground to talk about when I meet up with my parents!
I had to stop reading the BBC, it was like a massive weight lifted off me. All MSM is nonsense and no doubt captured but consuming the actual unapologetic state propaganda mouthpiece was just depressing me beyond belief.
I try and find some genuinely interesting stuff on youtube but it's a it of a pit...but nowhere near as bad a X where I walked away after a week of that insanity. That seemed like a Facebook level cesspool.
The Telegraph is actually hilarious to visit since the Tory party effectively died...they try and make an argument there's life in the corpse but the readership are so anti Tory now in the main part. It amuses me a bit anyway. Anything But BBC.

Man, listening to the new album after 12 hours of work today was like dipping into a perfect temperature hot tub with your favorite ice cold drink. Just hits the spot. Its a 5 just for putting me in a good mood. Im so morbidly curious about that guardian review but I dont really want it to sour my mood so maybe tomorrow.

I remember having to read Said's Orientalism in college, and it's unfathomable how much virtue signaling you'd have to do to draw a correlation between it and Boards of Canada. I recall my professor lambasting True Lies, holding an almost pathological disdain for the film because it contained basically all of the stereotypes and hallmarks Said says Orientalist media perpetuates. Now imagine that same class taught by the author of this Guardian hit piece. To illustrate the damage of Orientalist media, he plays a six-minute Boards of Canada track.
Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m fairly certain Said would be rolling in his grave at the idea that a white British man, firmly entrenched in the Norwood balding scale, is twisting Said’s literary achievement into a miserable white knight campaign to “protect” Eastern religions, all for cheap clicks on a site whose reviews have been a laughingstock for most of its existence.

After two listens I’m slapping an ‘optimistic 5’ on the new one…doubt it will top Music Has the Right…but it might edge out Geogaddi a shade which I have as a high 4.5 right now

It seems all critical theory/sociological terms get bastardised when they enter mainstream liberal consciousness

Idk if I’d say it’s especially dark. Prophecy hints at a much darker album than we end up getting. I saw people Reddit calling it Geogaddi 2.0 and I think that’s really far from the truth. It is incredible tho. 4 listens in and it continues to grow with each play. Could even be a 5

Well it’s not a horror movie haha but I’d say it’s darker than this
