actually no you don't choose boxer, boxer chooses you
|
| |
thx
this is lots below that but still solid 4 territory
I think I like it better than HV
god tier: Boxer, then Alligator a little below
amazing tier: this, then HV
good tier: others

agreed exactly w that tho i still haven't jammed the s/t so
|
| |
the s/t is actually really good. It's a little derivative, and they definitely hadn't found their style yet, but the songwriting is excellent. Cold Girl Fever in particular.

will jam

it's okay
like I totally get how people think it's really great, I guess it is, but I just don't see anything new it brings to the tale for the band and they execute that sound so so well / better elsewhere so *shrugs*
|
| |
is that in reference to the s/t? No, you're right, it's easily their worst, but there's a few nice songs on it that I come back to occasionally when I want some less ornamental national ya dig?
|
| |
yea
and that's fair that's fair
I go more to their recent stuff when I'm going for tracks that are non-LP a la So Far Round the Bend, Exile Vilify, Rylan
|
| |
there are, not there's

"god tier: Boxer, then Alligator a little below
amazing tier: this, then HV
good tier: others"
This is pretty much everything that needs to be said.
|
| |
Portal 2 is p good too.
I'd flip boxer and alligator, but the tier structure is otherwise appropriate.
|
| |
bizarre how closely national's discog mirrors tallest man on earth's, for me
fucking indie powerhouses
|
| |
I've learned like six tmoe songs on guitar in the last week. They're so fun.
Just chord-y ones, though. Can't fingerpick like that guy.
