"I get the 1000 yard stare by the 6 minute mark on the others. it's like fuck is this thing still going?"

Some of the songs on Brave New World are among the worst offenders in that regard so I disagree with the "after BNW" part. Some of the longer songs on the following albums actually justify their length.

Well no, unlike pretty much all other old school metal bands when you compare Maiden's post-millennial stuff to their 80's stuff there isn't actually a gulf in quality album wise. You could even say some of their post-millennial albums are more consistent (or should I say less inconsistent) than some of their 80's albums.

lol you're crazy how shit like Dance of Death or The Final Frontier are anything close quality-wise to any of their 80's albums? BNW and A Matter of Life and Death are decent, but still...

Dance Of Death and TFF are great albums, BNW is better though.

Notice I said some of their post-millennial albums? A Matter of Life and Death for example is a far more well crafted album than say, the patchy and inconsistent Piece of Mind which has a couple of shit tracks which might actually be shitter than most of their bottom tier post-millennial tracks.

They're good albums, but they don't hold a candle to the most majestic moments of their first 7 albums.
