Forget Not, Plague Flowers and Icicles is the most stupid 1-2-3 punch I've ever heard on an album. Fucking ridiculous.

"Maybe I'm interested in music? You think of that one?"
Damn, it was an innocent question but you're just going full *****
Say some moron thinks this is all some pretentious prog-wannabe shit trying to sound sophisticated but ends up being an embarrassment to music. Then what can you use that for?

"i thought it was their most popular song (?"
they haven't played it at either of the shows I've been to and it doesn't have any music/live videos, so...

Btw Vin and Sori just did a lyric breakdown of Icicles Fall, go check it out, it's amazing. Also check their breakdown of Plague Flowers if you haven't already. They also have a lengthy interview with Xen available.

Hadn't heard this in ages and as I played Forget Not I wondered why I only 4'd this. Then he started the clean singing and I knew. It sounds like someone pasted those vocals in at the last moment, possibly from another song.
Now that was some fucking constructive criticism you can take to the bank.

Yeah, the only criticism I could ever level at this is that the clean vocals sometimes are a tad too cheesy. But then on the other hand, they're at times fucking incredible.

Also ignoring the cleans, I think this is comparable to Disillusion's Back to Times of Splendor, and the songwriting there is better and more focused. These songs rarely feel like they have a grander structure. They're mostly a series of equal movements, and they achieve no strong identity as songs.

It always felt like one long epic song broken up into individual movements for the sake of convenience. I think all the transitions flow exceptionally well.

Portal of I is a lot more flowery and pretty than Back to Times of Splendor.
