Metal reached its creative peak in albums such as Obscura, None so Vile, and The Armageddon Theories, elevating the genre to a true artform. However, thanks to Spawn of Possession and The Faceless, all of this potential has been squandered, and it has been turned into gimmick ridden noise for drunk idiots (ie, the lowest common denominator - stop trying to turn underground metal into Nickelback.)
