and loveis, i'd actually say this is a huge improvement from Impulse. sure it was a great record but the musicianship and song writing on this album took a huge step forward.

everything flows so well, the atmosphere of each track. the fluidity of the entire album.... perfection. this might actually be a 5 :3 i never 5 albums generally...

at the moment i'm completely stuck on dementia. its phenomenal. i'll have to wait a few weeks before i decide on uping this to a 5. i generally only 5 things years after they've been released because that way I can be less fanboy-ish with my rating. it's certainly no less than a 4.5 to me at the moment though.

yeah I felt the same way. It took me like a year to up impulse to a five. I know there is some other albums i could up to a

five but just haven't done it... misery signals and counterparts come to mind

Damn. These guys sure know how to riff. I love Spirits Away, Crimson, Rebirth, and Hybrid Earth.

The riffs got a bit more clever, but the melodies and the breakdowns are pretty much the same which is a letdown

nah. the melodies are nowhere near the same. i dont even know how you can say that tbh. it isn't even close imo.

as for breakdowns, meh. breakdowns aren't as important to me now as they used to be. im fine with the ones they use on augment. im glad there aren't too many actually. it's more riffage and awesome melodies

And the awful cleans are still there. The cleans are so whiny on this and while improved it's still bad and annoying to hear.

They really really annoy me and I find them to be extremely whiny.
