Terrible record.
This is suppose to be Pink Floyd's transition to 'greatness.' Too bad it was actually all downhill after Piper.
This is one of the most inconsistent albums in Pink Floyd's catalog. No flow, overly pretentious (Echoes), poor songwriting, and unfocused bs.
One of these Days is a boring forgettable opener that goes nowhere.
The next two tracks are weak acoustic tunes. Good if you want to fall a sleep. Gilmour's vocals on Fearless are flat out terrible.
San Tropez is a laughable lounge rock track. This and Seamus get the vote for two of the worst songs in the genre.
Seamus is Pink Floyd's attempt at the blues and adding some humor? Thanks for showing us that you don't just suck at prog rock, but at blues as well. The track is just a dog whining and piss-poor out of tune guitar playing.
Without Echoes no one would even remember this album. The track itself isn't even good. The first 5 minutes are passable, then it goes into annoying keyboards and Gilmour's wanking. Then you get to enjoy 9 minutes of ambient and experimental noise.
