“ Since it's an official release we can't be too sure how much was edited though.”
Also thought about that, but then I decided for myself that he just got into some vocal training again as there are at least several official live shots which sound terrible, especially compared to this performance. Didn’t have a problem with his high notes at all tbh, I’m really simply glad he seems to hit the high notes again :] Will do some research on the release however...

And yea, his face looks pretty bloated and he’s strangely out of shape as a whole somehow...

Every time I see one of those vocal performances it just makes me think of how things could have been if Russell Allen was their singer

Lol i was literally at that gig.
Labrie sounded great, which in his terms is as close to the album recording as it gets as we all know they hate to do anything too out of the ordinary live. Was getting worried he was sounding stale for many years now but glad he came through on the day. Me and the guy next to me were almost in tears during the 'hopelessly drifting' part.
Was very happy during the metropolis part though. He did that album so much justice in all the right places

That was real good, but I miss Portnoy's cookie monster growls. This is also the first live recording I've seen with new Mike on the drums, he seems to be fitting in.

Mangini's been in DT for more than 10 years and he still feels like the new guy lol

Last time I saw them was in '17 as well and LaBrie's performance was ... well... at least ok I guess. Strangely enough the best part was Change of Seasons as encore, he pretty much nailed it. The whole gig was very fun despite several vocal missteps.

Very nice, would love to see them again soon, and I'm very glad you had a good time and can confirm James' good form. Unfortunately they always play the most sh!tty venue here with terrible acoustics. You can't have it all I guess...

Hammersmith Apollo was a great venue choice and the acoustics are known to be good. Not surprise they decided to record at that venue tbh

I think this would have been a much better album if The Count of Tuscany was the middle song on the album and it ended with The Best of Times
Always felt like an album should end on an emotional high and would have been quite cathartic if it were The Best of Times instead
