Am I the only one who doesn't like Wherever I May Roam and Of Wolf and Man? They just sound average for me

Wherever I May Roam doesn't have enough ideas to fill 6 and three quarters of a minute imo, but Of Wolf and Man is just awesome.

Yeah that's the problem with some of Metallica's songs. They drag a lot

I want a new album because I'm selfish and don't give a shit about the band's personal needs.

"Am I the only one who doesn't like Wherever I May Roam and Of Wolf and Man?"

Yes.

They'll probably make an album soon. Slayer just put out an album, and Anthrax and Megadeth are soon to follow, so Metallica may do the same. Or they'll wait 5 years like they did with Load.

not really, Metallica was never the same after this. Lars says this saved the band, I guess if they were tired being a thrash band, I get changing the sound of your band, I think they miss the point that others say or don't want to hear it, but if you change the sound of your band, make good music, this is average music, and would have been terribly rated it the name on the front was not Metallica

this could be 3 or 4 different sentences.

it also goes both ways. there are lots of people who rate this lower than they really feel about it because it's metallica/this particular album

Very true, im one of those guys haha, It feels like this album ended thrash tbh. That's probably why i've given it a 3.5 and not a 4.

RTL, MOP and AJFA kill this imo but it's still a fun hard rock album

Come on dude, it's still metal. Just 'cause it's not thrash doesn't mean it's not metal.

Interesting. The thrash songs are usually the highlights for me, but Metallica was always a "less thrash" thrash band after KEA. Take RTL. Only 4/8 songs are really thrash. Puppets is a bit higher with like 5-6/9. AJFA only has like 3 thrash songs.

I can't imagine how you'd cope with say Reign in Blood, Snide.

Yah Metallica were always more heavy metal then thrash metal, besides their first album of course.

Blackened, ...And Justice for All, One (at the end), Dyers Eve, The Frayed Ends of Sanity, The Shortest Straw...

Sure, I don't think of the t/t and Frayed Ends as thrash 'cause they're kinda mid-tempo, but the riffs are thrashy. The end of One for sure, but it is primarily a ballad and I didn't count Welcome Home either.
