"sorry i offended and confused you Guitarded, just thought I would try to put some thought into the issue, "

you did not offend nor come close to confusing me there big guy i'm simply pointing out the massive flaw and therefore utter failing of your argument

and im sorry, if you dont have a basic grasp of the concept of fallacies i don't think you should be teaching at any level

Robbit, that is precisely why I have always loved V4,, love the message of only relying on yourself.

Chuck, trying to figure out my big flaw that you mention, I think a big flaw of music lovers if comparing one album or kind of music with another kind of music, we should be comparing music with what is going on in the world when it was made, and of course I know what a fallacy is, was wondering if you thought I was writing one, either way

if anything that only creates bias and what i am saying is that one can still appreciate and take note of the creativity of an album in a certain place and time without having been around in that place and time

to be fair that is only an argument no a fact but i will hold to it

pink floyd is my favorite band ever in large part due to how creative they were incorporating new technology into their music, even though i was born 10-15 years after their prime and born into a time with much more available technologically speaking for music production

did not say you had to be there, most of my favorite music I was not around for or lived through, however as a history buff, I know or have read about the circumstances around the making or at least what was going on in the world and place that the album was made, just gives you perspective of how the music came to sound that way and the lyrics they are singing, think you misunderstood my stance

listening to something from the 90's compared to the early 70's is going to have much different frame of reference and sound than each other, and knowing that makes you able to hear the music differently thats all

thats fair

i guess what i meant is one cannot assume that another finds music bland or otherwise distasteful because they were not around when it was released because they too might understand the history around it and still feel that way regardless

although when it comes to someone saying they totally dislike paranoid and or master of reality without giving much reasoning you have to wonder
