either this or enemy of the sun
probably this though. great atmosphere, consistent all the way through, and absolutely stunning artwork, which is an element that needs to be considered when evaluating a neurosis record.

Nice dude, album sounds like the artwork doesn't it.

absolutely. the triple gatefold jacket for the vinyl is fucking awesome. nothing better than pouring a glass of nice stout, putting the record on the turntable, opening up that jacket and just getting lost in the music/artwork combo.

Dominion is making me want to hear this because beer was mentioned, jammed ASTNS the other day with a Scotch red ale which seemed like a decent fit, haha

yeah man this record pairs nicely with a good porter/stout

I wouldn't know how to pair beer & music, the colour just matched. Not really sure what else you can go on unless there's something I'm missing.

Nice dark stout dude for an equally dark album.

I'm more of a porter/black IPA man myself, equally dark if that's what we're going by...

well stouts are technically a type of porter

Album Rating: 3.5
Ah right, well I generally prefer the stuff usually labelled as porter, I drink a lot of the stuff (beer in general that is) but I'm not expert on all the technicalities.

Nice man. I should run through their discog again soon
|

Yeah this is why I generally don't think the first spin of an album is all that important. Basically missed the whole thing, apparently.
