I think the album did it tbh, and it being really damn good helped. It’s also the first time a bunch of these kids have been around for an album drop. So they were rabid for this fresh batch of tracks because they’ve played all the old shit to death



Again, im so happy for these guys. They’ve always been well respected for breaking from their nu metal peers but their popularity wained following White Pony. Now they’re more popular than they’ve ever been… I’ve never seen anything like it. They’re in the third act of their career and they have more motion than ever. Some of these kids fucking worship them and they’re a great gateway to heavier music. I really hope metal sees a resurgence in mainstream popularity and if it does, these guys will be a huge reason for that.



I had always been the youngest person at any given Deftones show, I was a teen when I first saw them and pretty much everyone was at least like a decade older than me, it’s very cool to see younger zoomers embrace them, because post-Gore I really thought these guys would be ready to call it a day.

It’s worthy of it. Certainly the best sequenced album they’ve ever made, maaaaaayyybe behind Koi. So impressive that they’re putting out shit this mint damn near 40 years into being a band.
