I mean, this isn't a sort of trollish album a la TOOL or Sleep Token where people come to jerk each other off in the name of edgy criticism. I think 74 pages is more than sufficient to get a good idea as to people's sentiments regarding the album, present and long term.

was kinda my point with the one smoll step thing, this almost(?) has enough broader heft to emanate such an aura… maybe it’s already here? It’s co-worker metal after all

If by watching Ulcerate threads I concluded that they have become the Tool of death metal I think it's safe to say by looking at this band's that they have become sort of the same...
They are so good that people who pretend to dislike them or diss them them as 'meh' or 'pretentious' have to justify themselves everyday posting how they are not that good.

If Ulcerate are the Tool of dm, these guys are the Btbam (per a couple of pages back). The criticism comes far more for their haphazard jank than perceived pretence — as someone who can see it from both sides, I don't think anyone's been trying to argue that BI aren't just making music they love for the hell of it
A couple of defences I've seen have been pretty pretentious (in that they've leaned into silly conceits), but this isn't a very stuffy band/wavelength of discourse by sput standards
