Ozzy's vocals sounded legitimately good on SBS and Sabotage. Before that, not so much. Still, the great instrumental work more than makes up for the vocals.

it is not the sound of his voice it is the attitude they give it, the best put in attitude to give the songs the feeling it needs, Dio was a "SINGER" meaning he had a good voice and knew how to inflect and all that, but it could be sterile that way as well

before I get beat up i am not saying he is bland, but he sings with skill, oz man sings with feeling

I got over it, I used to think that way, now I accept them for what they are; which are great metal albums, but is Sabbath in name only, should have called it a different name, which it appears was supposed to be the case, but the record company made them go with BS for recognition purposes, when i heard that it made me less resistant to the music

@Wham

Yes, so bland, I can't do it. They're fine songs, but they bore the fuck outta me.

"dude, becoming a teenager around 64-65 would have been cool musically, however we would be pretty close to our way out"

pretty sure that all those British blokes who rocked the 60's, wished they were born 30 years prior

bottom line is every generation thinks that way

Ozzy era still best era. I don't care how many Dio fantards dispute, he was better as a solo artist.

"Dio era is hella overrated"

agreed it's really good but not as god-tier as everyone says it is, the classics are with Ozzy where they belong

I actually prefer Mob Rules, but Dio with Sabbath rules, but yeah, almost a different band.

30 years prior = Great Depression and WWII. I don't think anyone really wishes they were born back then lol

In the 60's there were also ongoing wars and then there was the 70's oil crisis

Every decade had a political turmoil, i'm speaking clearly from a musical stand point here
