I think I like the EPs more than Cool World too tbh
I’ve said this a bunch before but the production on this is fucking immaculate, Cool World sounds muddied comparatively. I know that was probably very intentional but the guitars here sound like a fucking skyscraper getting dropped on your head, and it bummed me out that nothing on Cool World really ever felt like that. Idk maybe it’ll grow on me a bit more as time passes but I see it as a pretty big step down.
Still a very good record but this one is one of the best albums of the decade so far imo

Yeah I have a feeling that 4 will grow either some more listens. Everything sounds great, while still maintaining that kinda filthy, sludgy edge.

i feel like this one is hungrier and has a bit more to prove where Cool World is clearly a bit more comfortable in its own skin, like refining the sound a bit and trimming some excess

Cool World is solid but this is way better imo, the pair of EPs they dropped before this are amazing too. Dallas Beltway was my intro to this band and goddamn they left an impression
