Can't say I'm surprised. Frankie's always been an irredeemable piece of shit

Frankie did? All I saw was that he said something like “god must need angels”. It seemed like something nice??

I wonder why they went with such a low-effort song. It's ok but it feels like filler

nah he said a bunch of shit about them and then deleted the tweets, he's known for doing that a lot

Agreed art.
Hate to say it, but my enthusiasm for these guys is waning. Been an early fan, gatekeeper, I've met 'em, spent years evangelizing to everyone who would listen, am proud of how quickly they skyrocketed in popularity, the awards they've won, etc.
But them taking full advantage of the opportunities they were given (who wouldn't!) has led to them moving to LA (no longer a Canadian band in my eyes) and has definitely influenced their collaborators, inner circle, and ultimately their sound, bending towards a metalcore sound I'm not big on.
Here we are 3 years removed from the tonal shift we saw in their last LP, few tracks have had me coming back for more like their early work did, they haven't really toured Canada properly, opting for big festival shows and some international dates. And I hate to say it, but I think I've moved on and am pulling away in favor of more interesting bands that delight me. Nothing ever stays the same and an artists' output never has to cater to me, but I really wish they had stuck to the more moody, earnest, rhythm-driven, djent-adjacent stuff from 2017-2019. Kinda bored of them now and that kills me to say.

I just wish they'd utilize Josh more. Dude had killer vocals in AILD and it'd be interesting to hear him and Courtney trade off

That sucks Nomos, I agree with some of that, I will always miss their old proggy sound, and they've definitely streamlined their sound a lot. That said, I still love 90% of their recent stuff, I guess I'm just a fanboy.
This song has grown on me already actually, it's quite an ass-beater.

I'm in a similar boat as artiswar, it would be very difficult for this band to disappoint me. The new song admittedly isn't one of their best but even lower-tier Spiritbox still slaps

Loved their last EP but this new track is so mid. Getting increasingly tired of ''riffs'' being chugs with with weird noises in between. Got nothing on Cellar Door that's for sure.
