another year, another case of metalheads calling 30th-rate recycled dissodeath the best thing to happen to metal... don't worry, there'll be another album to fill this void in a few months

seems to be more interesting things happening in disso-black of late and / or at least of the blackened-death variety
but yeah, pretty funny and often true tbh

Yeah the new Kostnateni album is a perfect example of some great new disso-black/death with folk mixed in. Y'all gotta jam if you haven't yet.

probably jammed about as much karma as ulcerate at this point, feels like training wheels ulcerate at times which is great for my little brain

I always consider it an issue if listening to a band results in me yearning for their influences instead. Karmacipher fall into that category

>training wheels ulcerate
Oh I've been looking for that.

@demon that's fair, i'm the same in most instances. that being said, for most fields of metal, there are usually dozens or more bands operating within a given sound (how many bands have tried their hand at incantation worship, for example) so you get a full spectrum of approaches, and i've been wanting a more streamlined, meat-head riffs take on ulcerate for a while. feel like abhorrent did a great job channeling a generalised disso tech shindig into something relatively rudimentary and i think karmacipher do a great job with the ulcerate formula in turn innit

not necessarily music aiming to break ground, just dig it when the sounds i like have the staying power to inspire FFO lists or homage
