hmmmm I have always been a casual Coheed fan. Should probably revisit their debut with such strong recs from you guys

SSTB is 100% a 5.
Honestly just this morning I was singing in my head "dear Mariah, THE WORLD'S NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR THE BOTH OF US" bc I met a new coworker named Mariah lol.

'After the first listen, it really reminded me of the first time I listened to The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me by Brand New (songs like "New Wine, New Skin").'
Someone needs to explain what this is referring to, that's my favourite song from this album & that puts a dampener on all the potential excitement that's building inside of me. Seriously though, I don't get it.

Don’t listen to anyone that’s comparing this to anything Brand New, this album is on a whole other level and sexual predator-free

"Someone needs to explain what this is referring to, that's my favourite song from this album & that puts a dampener on all the potential excitement that's building inside of me. Seriously though, I don't get it."
Potential excitement? Wait, have you not listened to the full album yet? The whole album is streaming on YouTube.
I see that you are not a fan of that album (maybe just Brand New), but the first time I listened to TDAGARIM, I was in awe, and that is what my comment was referencing.
|
| |
Even if he was comparing them (which he clearly wasn't), how are you gonna let a single comment comment put "a dampener" on all of your "potential excitement". If you've already heard the album then that's even more absurd

Of course it's absurd, I wasn't being in the slightest bit serious (for the record). It was a playful bash at BN & I actually like this album regardless of what other people are pitting it against. I've heard the full record several times & my excitement was building for the song in question, as well as a few other select tracks.
I didn't understand how this sounded much like Brand New to anyone, in particular that track (maybe very vaguely/superficially) but this album didn't conjure up those comparisons for me. I see now that 'IsItLuck' has since explained it wasn't a stylistic comparison anyway.

New Wine, New Skins is easily my favorite song this week. And it could have stylistically fit on TDAG, lick my balls.
"God's will or come what fortune gives, or is this truly how you choose to live? ... Managing a narrative."

idk about that, I usually charge for those services, although you do get a discount if they're sweaty enough.

New Wine, New Skins is the one that kinda reminded me of Brand New.
You could also argue 9:27 shares similarities with Vices
