But I gotta admit, songs from this album were really good live.

Ive had both of their new singles on repeat all week. So stoked for their new album. The music videos for those two tunes are unbelievably charming too.

This was top 3 of the decade for me.. but the new songs just don’t really do it for me

This took a ton of time to grow but I kind of liked the singles on this at first. Just kind of. I don't like their new singles at all so far.

New songs aren't blowing me away but they're better than a few tracks on here

Im waiting for the album, personally. NMG blew my mind, so hopes are high! Just gonna go in blind and preorder all of the stuff, as I’m sure I’ll enjoy haha.

I'm thinking the new album is going to be even more of a change for them than this was. The singles sound like that anyway.

If NMG blew your mind, Nbehre11, then the new singles wont do much for you unfortunately

I think Speak With The Dead is a stunning song.

This is a band that I can't put my faith in to pick the album up without hearing singles. There's songs on here I still really don't like. I prefer their original sound. But all the power to bands that want to change and experiment.

Fine, I'll continue with the hot-takes.

This band's new sound is more exciting, forward-thinking, affecting and powerful by magnitudes than the competent-but-stale midwest emo sound they started with.

It's not even a contest.

Ducking for cover now.

I’m with him ^

And I tend to like stale but competent Midwest emo

that sound never got stale imo, least not in the hands of Foxing and some of their peers

Yeah, it's not stale. Their new sound is nothing to excite me, so I don't look forward to the full length at all. I still think this is their worst release, so I guess I can't expect them to "get better" from here.

I'm a big fan of midwest emo as well, and maybe "stale" was a bit harsh, but it's nowhere near as "fresh" as Foxing's current sound.

I just can't comprehend what you all think Foxing lost by moving to a more rich, expansive, progressive sound. All of the emotional intensity is still there, just presented with far more range, depth, ambition and creativity.
