I actually agree with everything he said, though a 1 is a LITTLE harsh.

Solid as fuck album.

Just as good as the rest of their discog, I think Meshug are prob one of the most consistent bands I listen to. Can put on any record and have a good time.

This just feels like Shuggah going through the motions to me. The album is very technical, but that's literally all it has going for it. It's just so... sterile. It evokes almost no feeling whatsoever from me. No chances are taken here. It's like the equivalent of watching a body-builder flexing for an hour; it's impressive in a way but just leaves me feeling empty. Compared to Obzen or Catch-33 this album is one-note and boring as fuck.

Insta-clicked on Bill Burr's most recent podcast when the description said he finally reacts to Meshuggah... Listening now, and turns out his first exposure was seeing them live with his drum teacher. Lmao, I've never been so hyped before. I'm gonna savour this shit.

I've actually never heard someone articulate this well what makes Meshuggah the best. HAHA

I also want to blow Bill at this point, but I do not share your sentiments about this album. Isn't life strange??

Have always respected this band for their musicianship but never truly appreciated the jams. Sometimes things take a while to click but I'm listening to Clockworks right now and this shit is beautiful. Will give the whole album a listen later and hope it measures up to the opener.

Yeah, I know a lot of people who respect these guys but can't get into them (probably because they are racist). Let me know if you get into this, dude - this is my favorite album of the past god knows how many years.

Clockworks is probably the best track on the album.

I have always loved Meshuggah but can't listen to them long because being an amateur drummer and trying to follow Tomas Haake's drumming gives me anxiety!

That's the only acceptable reason to not listen to them
