"You can say it but it's impossible for you to know how well it has aged both because you weren't even born when it was released so you can't know how you would have felt about it back in the day"
So you can't say that about any album in the 80's or 70's? Or even early 90's albums? That's dumb as shit dude. I think Pink Floyd has numerous albums that have aged well, but I sure as hell am not in my 40's.
Your second part I agree with though. It was a bit of a joke, but also as someone who isn't a Weezer fan I can't see how it's aged well. For the fanbase it probably has, but for me, I find it to be a bit of a victim of certain circumstances. But you're right, I could end up following in love with it. Is it likely? Not really. Most Weezer fans ended up growing into Pinkerton ~BECAUSE~ they already had pre conceived notions of Weezer. I listen to music like Pinkerton a lot and I still didn't like it, even as my first real exposure to the band. But whatever, you're over analyzing a terrible dis I made. IDK why you're so confrontational boney, but i'm the same way so whatev
~also there's a difference between "aging well" and "growing onto" someone musically, and I think it's possible Pinkerton is just a really good grower of an album, but not necessarily an album that has aged well in regards to music as a whole~

um, the album was initially pretty hated but has since garnered a lot of acclaim and a cult classic status so yeah i'd say it has aged quite well
|
| |
the initial hate against the album is what pushed Rivers to play every other album extremely safe, no?
