Everytime I listen to this I'm reinforced in the idea that this is such a huge step up from Obscura. I will never get why Obscura is so much revered over this. I get Obscura opened the gates of disso/tech death and that's a huge milestone in itself, but songwriting wise and cohesively wise this is way better than Obscura imho. Colored Sands was then the icing on the cake, HoF band fs.
Obscura always was too chaotic for my taste. It feels like a bunch of great musicians eagerly experimenting with their newly discovered form of making music but it lacks the pause and "cool" mind that a masterpiece requires. It's like they had not totally acquired control over their own invention.
PS: Luc, you may release your genius again anytime, we would all (me thinks) very much welcome it.
