Agree evo.
And it wasn't a 'slightly different' perspective for me, but no doubt this is all a highly individual thing.
It was tempting to think 'omg everyone must do shrooms now' but it can't fix e.g. stupid.

Yeah, the revelations need healthy integration to be genuinely useful on a personal level but theyre not for everyone agreed

I just hate the 'psychonauts' who think they've uncovered the elemental truths of their psyches and existence or some shit to that effect...no you just experienced a deluge of serotonin and temporarily distorted your perception and cognition, any epiphanies you had during that state are yours and yours only and may well be nonsense to anyone else so don't go around proclaiming that you're more enlightened than anyone else you know? Of course that can have a lasting and often positive effect on your outlook on life but it's the pretension that annoys me.
but i think being completely averse to hallucinogens because drugs are bad is just as stupid.

The idea of them lasting 8-12 hours is what really turns me off tbh

Ehhh, while i dont agree with such a reductionist outlook i definitely agree with the prentension being problematic in a lot of circles. Its easy to overblow the experiences without a solid spiritual foundation beyond your drug use lol like actually though.
|
| |
yeah it's only problematic when ppl go around being haughty really
i'm pretty secular so i never interpreted my trips from a spiritual/religious perspective although it did sort of shift me from a realist to idealist mentality even solipsist for a little while but now i look at them all as possibilities and nothing more.
I wouldn't mind becoming a little bit more spiritual but ill definitely steer clear of religion

The mysteries the preclude populist religious institutions are where its at. The symbology behind the great myths of yore have a lot to teach and definitely offered me a spiritual foundation i can rely on where religion itself had failed miserably. But like you said, its all possibilities right?

Rik is just stuck in his mainstream paradigm, man.

*Evokaphile is hoisted up on our shoulders as applause and Mexican music begins playing*
i pity you rikoach. Destined to be eternally benighted. Mankind wouldn't have even evolved to this level of imagination and cognition if not for the magic mushroom, Mckenna proved it.

Don't know if he proved it, but he's cool enough to be my messiah.

It's dangerous for people like us to be ironically woke. It's too much nuance.
