The title song's still pretty alright in that album imo. It's not the same quality as the rest of their stuff, but any other melodic hardcore band would be stoked as fuck to have written that song.

I agree, that is my favorite song on that album. I was stoked to hear they rerecorded Set Your Body Ablaze, but it didn't really wow me too much. Think I still prefer the original. But Reach Beyond the Sun was a huge improvement. Definitely a grower, and Chad's vocals are perfect.

Yeah, I didn't really like the re-recording as much, it felt more like a cover of their own song if that makes any sense. Honestly Misanthropy Pure just felt overproduced/too crisp-sounding in the context of the rest of their material.

I remember hearing singles off of this years ago before I really got into music and especially before I explored metalcore and thought these guys were some new up-and-coming act. Though I stumbled on something nobody else had found.



It's not like they helped lay the foundation for the genre or anything like that...

I remember a time when this had a 4.6 avg, memories.
