Toxin most of the time I understand what you're saying perfectly without a second thought, other times I have no idea what you just said. :/

haha i was an absolute shit-head at 17, sputnik watched grow up

if you think you're self-aware at 17, that's cute, but it'll pass sevenfold into a much more mature awareness. don't get too attached

i don't mean to be patronising, i'm 19 after all, but things change so quick!

it's true, my view of the world now is far different than it was when I was 16, even though my personality is relatively the same.

wait caleb am i older than you? (january 94)

also i don't think i'm discernibly more self-aware now than i was when i was 17, just maybe a little more introspective since i have more time to myself in college

yeah it's actually really jarring how quickly world-view changes. usually for the best though...

we're roughly the same age, i'm oct '93 -- i'm on the cusp of leaving my teens.

I guess world view wasn't the right choice of words, just how I see other people and how I feel other people see me. I'm much less egocentric in many regards.

yep

definitely living abroad challenges your worldview hardcore, you step out of the skin you've lived in all your life long and realise that you were in a bubble

and the world isn't amused by your dipshit antics

@caleb ah ok, for some reason i figured you to be about two years or so older than me. i'd say enjoy the end of your teens but my brother's 22 and acts like he's 18 so meh

@lakes um you have a shitton of down time in college. i'd say not including sleep, classes, eating, and doing hw, i had about 5-8 hours of free time daily on the weekend. of course you're free to spend this time being social but in my case i spent lots of it alone (should have joined a club)

in contrast, i spent HS from 8-4 (track practice) or 5 (afterschool lifting) with the same extended group of friends. i'd spend the rest of the day doing HW/chatting with the same group of people, or hanging out if we were free. so there wasn't much time to myself because i was always with friends, which in retrospect i could have used.

it might just be a personal case though
