The sense I get is you guys just say you like experimental Beatles. When you get down to it you prefer Something like "Oh Darling" over "Blue Jay Way"? Something just ain't right.

"That would be 5 camillo, like I said, and I know with the commas, but know what I am doing I am an English teacher".
Yeah, I was showing my support towards your previous comment.
Also, nothing like a nicely punctuated sentence. So, I support you once again.

i love oh darling because they are like okay lets do a throwback to our old basic 50s style love song rock and roll and show everyone we've perfected it, even after going through this psychedelic rebirth. we're still those same relatable everyday lads from liverpool.
my interpretation anyway
also just a great vocal performance by paul (his vocals are great on this record in general though aren't they?)

Sure, I just make the case that experimental Beatles was in top form during 1966-1968. Abbey Road fans should say they prefer polished not experimental Beatles.

Abbey Road fans should say they love the record per se, without attaching it to a determined Beatles era or style imho.

The thing is that I don't get the importance of attaching something you like to an specific genre or musical period. They are just tags in my opinion.
