I want to know how the band thinks I should perceive satan.

Metaphysically.

Well, now it's just obvious that the band would disagree with your perception of satan.

It's not kult to have fun and jokes are a symptom of a personal weakness that makes you unable to appreciate true metal.

The exception is scornful laughter.
Like when a christian or some other untermensch is crawling away from you, pathetically praying to god for mercy and slowly realizing they are in Hell.

I guess it just seems weird to imagine these guys like begging labels and zines to promote them or sending things to them. I wonder what the labels were and who worked there. I mean we don't know much about these guys but we do know that they are pretty deep into their ideological stuff. I even saw the singer Mikko Aspa breaking a CD in half in his record store because he disagreed with the bands ideas.

It's not begging, it's just what bands do and always have done. They all sent letters, traded tapes, and it was a community. It wasn't begging or lonely self-promotion. Also because it was in the late-90s, I imagine they might have had a presence in internet forums and communities as well at the time.

That was a Krallice CD, Krallice come from entirely different roots than Deathspell.

There does seem to be an increase in people demanding artists to be role models of morality. Maybe it has always been this way, but all these embarrassing identity politics are currently very visible.

That is when it is a good time to remember that we are in Hell and Satan is our lord.

80s punk bands were the ultimate edgelords and everyone thought that was cool. I think edgelords provide a necessary service to society.

We need them. When people burn a church I'm always thankful, and relieved that I didn't have to bother.

I don't really think you can equate him or the band with edgelords. I mean, I think this band really mean what they do/say. There's a big difference between someone who really believes something and someone who just wants to be edgy.

One of the things I love about this band is they have extreme conviction.
