It's nowhere near perfection. The first 3-4 minutes are completely pointless and the same thing goes for about 3-4 minutes in the middle of it. That track would be so much better if they trimmed it down.

That's my favorite part as well. The thing about this album is that it has 3 really damn good tracks (Into the Painted Grey, The Watcher's Monolith, The Ghost of Midwinter Fires) and 3 average/bad tracks (They Escaped the Weight of Darkness, Black Lake Nidstang, To Drown). Just very inconsistent.

But when I think of rating this album I ignore the first and last tracks as simple intros and outros
that have no bearing on the content. Where as I look at Bloodbirds as utter shit that detracts from
the album instead of being an outro.
