I was really disappointed on first listen, partially cause I was expecting so much, but over time it's grown on me for what it is

exactly aha so many people that I respect have this as one of their favorite albums so I had high high hopes. maybe now that I have low hopes and it's been a couple days since I listened to it, it will grow a bit

I've been giving this album some listening this past week and it's as magical as it was the first time I heard it six years ago.

could you, please? my razor's getting dull

In all seriousness though that was bland electronic gabbly gook
like you'd have to be the biggest Sufjan nerd(hint hint nudge nudge) to find emotion in that.

"biggest Sufjan nerd"
ok yes me but if you genuinely don't enjoy that I have a feeling that you should avoid The Age of Adz. It's all about that "electronic gabbly gook". It's my favorite Suf era so I'm bound to get wet over this kind of stuff, but it has been shown to be one of Suf's more polarizing styles.

Sounds like a cool project, I'll give the track a listen later

That's the spirit! This album clicked immediately for me, but it's definitely an album that'd take some time for others, given how dense it is.
Though idk why you'd be so grossed out by the concept of a 17-track space album. You do know what 'Illinois' was, right?

TBH I still need to listen to Carrie and Lowell, it's the most immediate love I've ever had for an album but because of that I only heard it that one time
"Though idk why you'd be so grossed out by the concept of a 17-track space album."
It's rubbing me the wrong way mostly because it's reminding me of the new Gorillaz album, which I don't think is looking too great so far either. I don't know, I didn't know this had electronic "gobbly gook" so I assumed it was the space setting that made them incorporate such heavy electronics. I don't mind long albums or albums based in settings like Space, lol.
