Yeah I kinda feel like HV is like the precursor to TWFM in the same way Alligator is to Boxer. I know many people won't agree but that's just how I feel.

TWFM has something of alligator(sea of love, graceless), something of boxer(Dont swallow the cap) ,something of high violet(DEMONS) and also of sad songs(This is the last time). its really varied thats why i like so much

I wouldn't dare employ the word "varied" to describe a The National album but sweet

they have 0.5s so you'll be tempted to 0.5 the albums you hate the most (your 1s)
and with no 1s left your 1.5 will have to become 1s
and so on
so yea you'll naturally get higher standards m/
sup chort

it's weird but in listening to twfm, i've come to appreciate this so much more. just about a week ago i declared this my least favourite national album, but now i think i'll strike that and say this is fantastic. i had listened to it so many times in high school, trying to like it to no avail, but now it all sounds so nostalgic to me.

This one grew on me in a strange way, one song at a time. It's not until I had wrapped my head around the whole thing that I appreciated it completely though.
