The awful synths on this deserve at least a 1.0 reduction.

Those who dislike Tool struggle both with making music and having a discerning taste to back up their opinions about the band. But hey, at least they can pretend to be critics and play with 5-star ratings. Cute!

That’s an impressive amount of incorrect assumptions to fit into one paragraph.

assuming assumptions are incorrect is an incorrect assumption

Well old mate incorrectly assumed I’m not a Tool fan, can’t play/make music, and don’t have taste; there’s three in one sentence. Amazing performance.

The whole Tool fanbase and hate is actually ridiculous. Tool are one of my favorite bands but I can understand why other people don't really dig them. Plus the militant fanbase probably really puts people off before they could even give an album a full spin to begin with. I have introduced a number of people to Tool over the years but I did it by just giving them the ole "you should give them a shot".....not the "omg they play in 7/8 and maynard's syllables line up with the code of the universe and and and..."

Also this album is already 5 years old...most bands would've dropped three more albums in that time so there's that as well

It's very simple. Listen to the music that you like and respect others doing the same.

It's a sign of maturity, I'd say, to be able to live and let live.

Portnoy struggling to learn "Pneuma" was a big surprise to me. I guess that's what happens when you truly mess around with time signatures.

I mean that song is probably Danny's magnum opus, honestly I was surprised they even laid that one on anyone

But the best way is to get them really high and plop them down in front of some high end speakers.

Storm, that was what's crazy to me: when you listen to the song everything seems to sync so well that you're sort of fooled into thinking it is easier than it actually is. Credit to Danny's virtuosity for creating something so complex yet listenable to the layman.
