i wanna agree theres a close connection between this alb and mez+hyp. maybe in a diff way than already stated. soad sounds less sure of itself, kind of flails a bit too much, and by the end of their run with hyp+mez the same statement could be made.

I think that's kind of how the band has always been. Record EVERYTHING. Atleast with Tox they had proper quality control so the not so great (but still really good) tunes that were cut from Tox ended up on STA. With this and Mez+Hyp they kinda just throw everything at the wall to see what sticks, and to their credit most of it does.

That could be because Chop Suey, Toxicity, Ariels and Sugar got overplayed though when I used to watch the music channels as a kid
