I do tell them to fuck off but what gets me is how, especially with like trad shit like Iron Maiden, it's damn near impossible to find more than like 1 or 2 songs that are more relatable and less yippee history fantasy stuff. So it's like almost like metal has less of a place unless you're specifically curating like 3 or 4 subgenres. I'll even ask in r/metal and shit and its usually the same like 10 songs I already know and its like is that seriously it?

Iron Maiden has lyrics about all kinds of shit, you think that there aren't people who relate to a bunch of the stuff they've written? Like for example I could 100% see an Iraq vet thinking 'The Trooper' is the most relatable shit.

As far as Maiden the most relatable they've gotten for me is stuff like Wasted Years and Stranger in a Strange Land. But even those are a stretch. Idk I think they're probably more relatable to other people with different experiences and I can't take that away from them.

I'll say for certain that "Sweating Bullets" is potentially the most relatable Megadeth has ever gotten for me.
