But, You With Me certainly isn't a bad song. It gives strong If You Don't, Don't vibes. It's a pop song, not a rock song. But it has loads of varied elements in it. The vocal flourish leading into the chorus is very Coldplay. The synth in the bridge is very Stranger Things. The intro vocals are almost into Sigur Ros territory. There is a diverse pool of influences brought together in one pop song. It feels like the CTL/Invented-era JEW where it doesn't QUITE feel like "them" in the way that S&C and Get Right do, however I will say that if it was on CTL or Invented, I feel like it would be one of the stronger tracks.



From people who have heard the album (quite a few from publications etc), nobody has named You With Me as a favourite track, and a couple of people actually named it as one of the weaker songs along with Get Right. So make of that what you will!

Yeah Jim's voice is the strongest it's ever been. He used to be a LOT more pitchy with his live vocals than he is these days. I think he is putting a lot more care into his performance lately. Get Right acoustic was how I first heard the song and I loved it cause of how the space just lets his voice soar. I might prefer the acoustic version for that reason, but really both versions have their own place which is great.
