Honestly, the Emperor of the Sands came and then a few months later some really real shit happened with my family that makes this album brutal to listen to. If this new album is how they project it to be that would be a really heavy one-two-punch.
In a way it does seem like it could be a double concept album. One dealing with Death, the other with the pain of living. I'm ready Mastodon.

Jaguar God is so much better than the rest of this, kind of boring until then, it's not bad just completely unremarkable & watered-down, I sort of forgot it was on. Show Yourself is still a bit cringey though, the album's 'context' doesn't improve it.

I'm metal-centric these days but I still listen to plenty of other stuff, I just don't think it's a particularly good song & by the 'Don's 'earlier' standards it's downright terrible. I do agree that some of the Hunter was equally as bad though.
