The first two suck. I like Signs of Life, but according to everyone else and their brother, Signs of Life is the worst one. Pitchfork took a massive dump on it. I really don’t see many things worse than Creature Comfort tho. It’s like as bad and annoying as that I’m With Her song by Le Tigre

I guess I can understand a less-than-positive stance on Signs of Life tho. It has that cheesy, pastiche sound M83’s Junk has, but I love that album so I don’t care.

Very first single isnt awful, but creature comfort is total garbage. Signs of life is better in that it cant seem to do anything right, but isnt outright terrible.

I don't know what to make of this "we are the thinking man's dance pop band now" approach.



On Signs of Life i actually like the kinda thumping groove they got going on in the verses especially the urgent trumpet, but then the chorus (and really the buildup to it) is just a big ???. And that Monday, Tuesday think in the later half is also very awkward. Also the vocals, I'm sorry Win but you are not Bowie and you'll never be, stop trying to be.



Everything now is just so melodramatic and when that super corny piano riff comes in they just instantly loose me. That sounds like some ABBA B-Side if I'm honest. The song does redeem itself a bit with the lyrics and at least Win is doing a decent vocal performance on this one. I guess it could have been pre good without the super corny bits (flute, piano riff etc.)



Creature Comfort at least had somewhat of a cool intro but then it immedieately falls apart with these super awkward, grating vocals in the verses. I mean is that supposed to be a groove? He's just stumbling through these verses like it's his first song. And the message/lyrics are just SO FUCKING ON THE NOSE. Did we really need the backing vocals to hammer it in with so much force/hysteria.



Now that I think about it. I think I know what to make of this new direction. I hate it.

Everything Now is great, Signs of Life is low on, well, life but a solid 4/5 jam in the right record. Creature Comfort I can grow to like. Keep your hopes up bitch boys it will be good enough

Electric Blue is out. The instrumentals are okay but idk why Régine has this idea to be a falsetto singer. Reminds me of a knock-off Tame Impala. It’s probably my favorite new single so far. It’s a better falsetto than Creature Comfort. It’s more smooth and melancholic than abrasive and loud.

it's actually pretty interesting if it weren't so incredibly unlistenable.

I've enjoyed all of the singles so far tbh. There are things about Creature Comfort that bug me a bit, but it's overall pretty decent.

I like the cheesy disco vibe then I guess. If Creature Comfort and Everything Now are the only missteps I may not hate it. The last minute and a half of Electric Blue is so freaking addicting.
