Mein fucking blows. Serj and Chino are by far the two most unique vocalists to come out of the nu metal/alt metal scene and they both sound like they recorded this song in their sleep. It’s boring as hell imo

I love SNW but both Mein and Pink Cellphone bring it down so much.

Yeah I guess people were expecting more from the Serj feature in "Mein", but I still dig the song. The guitar and drums carry it for me.

Mein is so god damn boring, it just drifts by without any memorable moments at all. Serj's vocal melody is awful too imo.

i think the difference is SNW's murky production just turns Mein into an obscure haze. there's boring songs on DE but they at least have a hook of some kind that's emphasized in the crystal-clear mix. don't get me wrong i prefer the production on SNW, though. and then i totally forgot about Gore so i'm sure there's more middling going on there.

for me the hook is the song minus the vocals, chino glides with it. the “obscure production” is frank and stephen doing their thing. also it’s their most shoegaze-y record so it works with it.
