i always felt like LCW could have been trimmed down just a few songs while this feels perfect and got way more replay value.. imo

this album is forever locked in a specific period of time and place in my car stereo. best memories

I really think LCW vs M&A is like Ok Computer vs. Kid A for me
both have songs that fit stylistically from the album one just has a more seamless flow, tbh i probably still prefer LCW to this, I just love the different songs so much, but this is great too

I really didn't give this album enough credit in the first few listens. The lyrics here are really smart and clever, not to mention meaningful.

Brock's got a pretty great way with words, very oddly honest and poetic and cryptic at the same time.

Yeah this band has some of the best lyrics you can find in modern rock

I know some people are probably going to disagree with me here, I REALLY love the first three tracks, but I think conceptually things pick up with Perfect Disguise onwards. I kind of just space out with the first three tracks, and the run from Perfect Disguise to Stars are Projectors is one of the best runs I've ever witnessed in an album.

I don't know about conceptually but I do think it picks up a bit around there

I think it's kind of interesting and really admirable how Cold Part, The Stars are Projectors, and Life Like Weeds are all spaced out like the "epics" or center pieces of the album. All definitely feel like they progress the album extremely well.
I still think this would be the hardest 5 if Paper Thin Walls/I Came As A Rat/What People Are Made Of ... weren't on here. It's weird, they're good songs, really good even, but I don't like their flow on here at all and they sound like B-Cuts. They introduce some great lines sure but beyond that i'd prefer them off the album.

Paper Thin Walls is blissful and I Came as a Rat is enjoyable too.

I love Came as a Rat, tho mostly from a production standpoint
not that the song's bad or anything, but those little filtered drum parts are sweet
|
| |
I mean I said I love Came as a Rat in a previous comment and I still do
But like Log I enjoy it more for it's production. And those songs are just the weakest here, if this was 12 tracks i'd be perrrrrrrrrrrrfeeeeeeeeect

True plane. There's a reason Paper Thin Walls directly follows their amazing epic, The Stars are Projectors.
If anything the weakest three would be the closer, Alone Down There, and Wild Packs, even if the latter has wonderfully disturbing lyrics. I love it all though, album is perfect as is.

Yeah Wild Packs is amazing

For sure but I honestly prefer listening to the opening few songs, Lives, the epic songs, and a couple others sometimes.
