I'd say the final ten minutes of the album are a good representation of what hell sounds like.

Yea man, Hurt is devastating. Ironically, A Warm Place, a beautiful interlude, isn't too far behind the final tracks which just hit you one after the other.

@Mongi: Yeah, as a lot of people have described it, it's the calm before the storm. That one glimpse
of humanity left in the protagonist before it all goes to complete shit.
Also, am I the only one who thinks the dude didn't actually kill himself? It just seems a bit too
obvious and blunt of an ending for an album with such multi-layered songwriting. I like to think that
it's just all just fantasy that he's having.

@Arty You kinda have to look at it at more of an artistic level rather than just angsty teen stuff but
I understand some people can't get past that. You didn't like any of the atmospheric stuff?
@Froot Idk Trent did suffer from lots of shit. He claims this isn't about him but there are parallels.
This may have all been just a fantasy to the protagonist, but Hurt actually reveals what he does: Self
medicates with cutting himself because of depression. Kinda sad really.

I agree, it's pretty eerie how things played out in his life after this.
Needing to give Fragile another go. Was listening to And All That Could've Been last week (one of the best fucking live albums btw) and upon hearing a number of tracks from the former included on the setlist, I feel like my 3.5 that I gave it like a year ago is unjustified.

There was this one documentary I watched where they were talking about the 2013 tour performance, and the making of the concerts, and everyone salivating over how much of a god Trent is. It's all really interesting for ten minutes, talking about lights and effects and shit, but then it starts showing clips of Trent getting mad at how shit the rehearsals are and lecturing the crew, and they have like three days before a concert in Japan, and it's like oh shit what are they gonna do
Thing is, it was only like a half hour long. I'm pretty sure you could make a feature-film length concert/documentary out of a NIN show, with all the drama that surrounds the production. Or at least I would watch the shit out of that.
